Job summary

JR Automation, A Hitachi Group Company, is seeking an Applications Engineering Intern for our Nashville, TN site. You will assist and support engineers, learning from dedicated automation experts while contributing to design, build, program, and deployment of custom automated equipment.

You’ll work with a team to design automation lines for customers nationwide and collaborate with engineers to brainstorm solutions, create CAD models, and prepare quotes.

Qualifications

• High School graduate, or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.
• Basic CAD proficiency.
• Basic knowledge of electrical/pneumatic schematic drawing packages.

Responsibilities

• Design custom automation lines for customers nationwide in various industries.
• Collaborate with applications, mechanical, and controls engineers to vet automation solutions; learn the automation industry.
• Create CAD models, conduct automation timing studies, and prepare quote materials for customers.
• Communicate with customers to gather requirements, show concept designs, and guide them through the automation process.
• Reach out to vendors for product quotes and subject matter expertise.
• Develop, build, and present an intern project to general management and applications team.
