Job summary

Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an Agronomy Intern to learn all aspects of golf course maintenance in the desert environment. You will work 32-40 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks, gaining hands-on experience under Agronomy staff, including irrigation management and turf care.

This paid internship requires enrollment in an accredited 2- or 4-year program in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, or Plant Sciences and offers benefits such as access to medical clinic and meals

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited 2 or 4-year Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, or Plant Sciences Program.
• This is a paid internship recognized by the intern’s collegiate institution for academic credit.
• Schedule: 32–40 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Daily course set-up including tee set-up and cup cutting.
• Calibration and application of liquid and dry materials.
• Assist in irrigation repair and maintenance.
• Operate golf course maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, etc.).
• Administer water management philosophy for seasonal conditions and turf types.
• Identify disease and pest issues and report to management.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
