United Health Services, Inc. is seeking Staff Registered Nurses for the PACU team at UHS Wilson Medical Center in New York. The role involves fast-paced, collaborative patient care with an emphasis on pain management and rapid recovery, across multiple locations.

Part-time, 24 hour Day and Night Rotation positions with 8-hour shifts; weekends/holidays on call. Sign-on bonus up to $15,000. Benefits available after 24 scheduled weekly hours.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• New York State RN license is required.
• BSN preferred; CCRN, ACLS, PALS, TNCC preferred by unit.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients as primary nurse when assigned.
• Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management.
• Safely administers medications according to policy.
• Contributes to staffing, time management, supplies, and services.
• Complies with nursing standards, regulations, and policies.
• Supports Nursing Shared Governance and unit initiatives.
• Engages in professional development and mandatory education.

There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Primary Work Shift:

Compensation Range:

$40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience

You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.

Essential Functions:
Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that are performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.

• Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.

• Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.

• Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.

• Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.

• Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.

• Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.

• Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.

• Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

• Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

• A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing

• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.

Preferred:

• CCRN

• Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.
