Job summary

TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati seeks a Registered Nurse for the PACU. Full-time day shift with four 8-hour shifts and call requirements. Requires RN license, 2–3 years in Telemetry/ICU, and BSN within 5 years of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• New hires must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire (required).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience in Telemetry or ICU/CCU/ED (required).
• Experience in PACU or similar setting strongly preferred.
• Registered Nurse license required.
• ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit or department; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient/family assessments and document per guidelines.
• Develop and update individualized plans of care based on patient needs and expected outcomes.
• Provide safe, ethical, patient-centered care while supporting dignity and autonomy.
• Prioritize care based on patient condition and unit needs.
• Safely administer medications and treatments; perform skills per policy.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions.
• Evaluate patient responses and revise plans with the care team.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Supervise delegated tasks and ensure quality care delivery.
• Participate in committees, staff meetings, and unit initiatives.
• Support student learning and staff development; lead as needed.
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education.
