Job summary

Boys Town is seeking a dedicated PACU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality post-anesthesia care in our Omaha, Nebraska facility. The role emphasizes patient safety, education, and collaboration with the surgical team.

You will monitor vital signs, manage post-operative pain, and ensure accurate documentation in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have PACU/ER/ICU experience, strong communication, and calmness under pressure.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of two years in an acute hospital setting; pediatric experience preferred.
• CPR (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
• On-call availability and ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficient in patient education and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients pre- and post-surgery using the nursing process.
• Plan and adjust care based on patient age and development.
• Document care and report to the health care team.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care.
• Support Joint Commission readiness and performance improvement activities.
• Collaborate with surgical team and participate in unit committees.
