Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for travel assignments in Burlington, MA. The RN will care for patients recovering from anesthesia, monitor vitals, and ensure safe emergence from anesthesia. Requires MA RN licensure; 1 year PACU experience preferred and ACLS/PALS as per contract.

Qualifications

• Health certificate current per contract or state regulation.

Responsibilities

• Observe and treat patients postoperation in PACU.
• Monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness during waking from anesthesia.
• Ensure sedation wears off properly and detect adverse reactions.

The post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN cares for patientswho have under gone anesthesia. Thepost-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN is responsible for observing and treating apatient postoperation and making sure that they safely awake fromanesthesia. The post-Anesthesia CareUnit (PACU) RN must monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness to makesure that the sedation is wearing off properly, there are no adverse reactionsoccurring and patients are regaining consciousness.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current RN licensure in the state in which RN is working.
• One year PACU experience preferred
• CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) or CAPA (CertifiedAmbulatory Perianesthesia Nurse) certification preferred
• ACLS and PALS certification per contract requirements
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
