Qualifications

• Must hold a current and valid state RN license.
• BLS (AHA) certification at hire with ongoing maintenance.
• ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS (AHA) certification preferred.
• Experience in Critical Care or PACU, or at least one year of on-the-job training.
• CCRN preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care to PACU patients following nursing process.
• Coordinate postoperative care with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and monitor hemodynamics and tests.
• Guide other staff while maintaining standards of care and unit organization.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
