Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital in Illinois is seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse to provide care across the perioperative continuum. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all PACU patients, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesiologists.

You will guide other staff, monitor patient safety, communicate changes in condition, and participate in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings to maintain standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum of one year on the job training.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process for all PACU patients.
• Coordinate post-operative care with surgeon and anesthesiologist and guide other staff.
• Maintain standards of care in the PACU and communicate patient changes to physicians.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality care and efficient patient flow.
