Job summary

Two to three years of critical care, emergency, post-anesthesia, or ambulatory surgical care experience is preferred. The role involves pediatric to geriatric patients and requires comprehensive physical activity and lifting capabilities

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current BCLS certification required upon hire.
• Current ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Current PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age and clinical condition.
• Follows the seven medication rights and reduces potential for medication errors.
• Performs patient care using an integrated approach that optimizes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
• Formulates and revises an individual plan of care based on patient response.
• Communicates clinical information to support an interdisciplinary approach and coordinates with ancillary departments.
• Delegates tasks to health care team members appropriately.
• Demonstrates unit-specific competencies and prioritizes job functions.
• Performs assessments, documents activities, and monitors progress toward goals.
