Job summary

Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a PACU RN on a per diem basis to deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care. The role reports to the OR Charge Nurse and Surgical Services Director, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesia staff.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and preferably PALS, with PACU or critical care experience. Per diem shifts are available, with emphasis on patient safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS (AHA) certificate preferred.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum of one year on the job training.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The PACU RN is responsible for delivering patient care in the PACU using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinates post-operative care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist and directs/ guides other personnel while maintaining PACU standards.
• Communicates changes in the patient’s condition with the physician including hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic results.
• Maintains adherence to regulations, standards and hospital policies; participates in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
