Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to deliver high-quality postoperative care. This 20-hour schedule (Evenings/Days) with weekend call rotations supports a mission-driven hospital known for Magnet recognition and commitment to equitable care.

As an RN in PACU, you will assess, stabilize, and monitor patients emerging from anesthesia, collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams, document care, and participate in

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma, ASN or BSN (BSN preferred) and ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Current RN Massachusetts license with BLS, ACLS, PALS; TCAR or TNCC.
• Prior RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Department, including assessment, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines established by BMC’s nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
