Job summary

Career Land Center, LLC in Los Alamos, NM is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This hands-on clinical role focuses on patient safety, recovery monitoring, and attentive post-operative care within a collaborative surgical team.

The PACU RN provides direct post-anesthesia care, assesses vitals and airway status, manages pain, and ensures safe progression toward discharge while coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other staff.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year PACU experience
• Strong clinical assessment and rapid response skills in post-anesthesia care

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia in the post-operative setting
• Assess vital signs, airway status, level of consciousness, and recovery progress
• Manage pain control measures and patient comfort interventions
• Identify and respond to post-anesthesia complications or changes in condition
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other clinical staff regarding patient status
• Ensure safe transfer of patients to inpatient units or discharge areas
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Follow established recovery protocols and safety standards
• Support efficient patient flow through the surgical recovery process
