Job summary

Lee's Summit Medical Center in Missouri is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide immediate post-operative care for surgical patients. You will monitor airway, neuro and cardiac status, respond to complications, and collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams.

The role requires ACLS, BCLS and PALS within specified timeframes, active RN licensure, and PACU or ICU experience. On-call duties include 1–2 holidays per year and weekend rotation every 6 weeks.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required/active.
• ACLS within 6 months of start date.
• BCLS within 30 days of start date.
• PALS within 6 months of start date.
• Prior PACU or ICU experience required.
• On-call: 1–2 holidays/year and weekend rotation every 6 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in PACU using evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with surgical/anesthesia teams and interdisciplinary staff.
• Monitor airway, neurological and cardiac status; manage complications.
• Assess patient condition, document changes and care provided.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up.
