Job summary

Select Physicians Surgery Center in Tampa, Florida, affiliated with United Surgical Partners International (USPI), is hiring a Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse. This busy multispecialty ambulatory surgery center performs over 5,000 surgeries per year and is committed to safe, compassionate patient care.

The PACU RN provides continuous evaluation, recovery from anesthesia, and preparation for discharge, with emphasis on patient safety, comfort, and privacy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
• Continually evaluate the patient's condition and safety.
• Ensure comfort and privacy throughout care.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and prepare patients for discharge.
