Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will monitor and care for post-anesthesia patients, administer medications, and collaborate with the health care team to ensure safe recovery.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Registered Nurse License-NYS and BLS Certification.
• PACU and ICU experience preferred.
• ACLS, NIHSS and 8hr Stroke Education within 3 months; PALS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs post-anesthesia care duties for assigned patients.
• Monitors patient status, reassesses, and documents progress.
• Administers medications and parenteral therapies as ordered.
• Maintains patient safety and collaborates with care teams.
• Educates patients and families and assists with discharge planning.
