Job summary

VCU Health in Richmond, Virginia seeks a Patient Care Tech for PACU on days and evenings with rotating shifts, PRN. You will provide direct, age-specific care under the supervision of a nurse and follow the care plan to support safe patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (CNA preferred) and BLS certification, with prior healthcare experience. The role offers competitive hourly pay and exposure to an academic medical center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA certification is preferred.
• AHA BLS for Health Care Providers is required or equivalent.
• Experience in a healthcare environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and direct age-appropriate patient care under RN or licensed practitioner.
• Monitor patient conditions and report updates to health care team.
• Maintain safe, clean, stocked environment and assist with hygiene and mobility.
• Collect patient data such as vitals, intake/output, and weight as outlined by policy.
• Assist with specimen collection for diagnostic tests.
• Participate in mandatory trainings and infection control practices.
• Ensure patient safety and respond to instructions from the health care team.
• Demonstrate equitable care across age groups and growth/development considerations.
