Job summary

Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the patient care team in the Same Day Surgery / PACU Recovery Room. The role involves providing basic patient care and may assume Health Unit Coordinator responsibilities as needed.

Shifts are PRN with 8, 10, and 12-hour options; Monday through Friday with a variable day/evening schedule and occasional on-call. Starting pay is $18.40+ per hour based on patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in the state of practice.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Basic computer literacy skills.
• Written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care such as toileting, bathing, and comfort measures.
• Document patient care findings promptly and report changes to the RN.
• Monitor patients and assist with telemetry as required by unit.
• Transport medications to the RN as needed on the unit.
• Collaborate with the RN and team to ensure optimal patient care.
• May perform Health Unit Coordinator duties (phones, orders, records).
• Implement and adjust the plan of care as delegated.
• Adhere to safety policies and respond appropriately in emergencies.
