Job summary

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks an Assistant Clinical Manager for its 14-bed PACU, providing leadership and clinical support to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. The ACM coaches staff, supports onboarding, and drives performance improvement across operations.

Responsibilities involve leading daily PACU activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and promoting a culture of safety and evidence-based practice while pursuing organizational goals.

Qualifications

• ASN and actively enrolled in BSN program.
• Current California RN license.
• ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum three years in PACU/ICU/perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Supports daily PACU operations and patient flow.
• Assists with staffing, scheduling, productivity, and bed capacity coordination.
• Acts as operational lead in the absence of the Clinical Manager.
• Collaborates with physicians, anesthesia and perioperative leadership to optimize care.
• Participates in quality improvement and performance initiatives.
• Coaches staff and supports onboarding and ongoing education.
