Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide and supervise direct patient care, coordinate education, self-management, and continuity of care. You will administer medications per policy and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize Veteran outcomes.

Qualifications include nursing degree from an approved program, state licensure, and ongoing development to meet VA standards; foreign graduates may require degree validation and licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
• State license as a registered nurse; may include bridge programs and temporary appointments until licensure.
• Foreign nursing graduates require degree equivalency validation and current licensure.
• Reference VA Handbook 5005 for qualification standards and duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate care with patient education, self-management, and satisfaction across the continuum.
• Administer medications and procedures per established policies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to influence patient care.
