Job summary

UPMC is seeking a PACS Administrator I to oversee imaging information systems, coordinate interface activities, and manage upgrades across Imaging Services. The role involves substantial interaction with physicians, staff, and vendors, supporting radiology departments across Central PA and participating in on-call rotations.

Required are radiology experience, PACS/RIS knowledge, and strong understanding of DICOM, HL7, and networking.

Qualifications

• At least three years of Radiology experience is required.
• PACS/RIS experience strongly preferred.
• Broad knowledge of radiology with RIS/PACS systems.
• Understanding of Radiology operations and workflow; Windows OS; DICOM; HL7; networking; dictation systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation and testing of new modalities.
• Troubleshoot HL7 interfaces and related testing.
• Participate in quality improvement and process optimization.
• Train staff on PACS, PowerScribe and related imaging software.
• Ensure accurate capture of DICOM images and data integrity in RIS/PACS.
• Provide 24/7 support and vendor coordination during upgrades.
