Packout Operator

Location: IKO Glass Fiber Inc., Chester, SC

Department: Production

Type: Full Time

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Maintaining exceptional attendance and punctuality
  • Following all safety policies and procedures; safety is a condition of employment
  • Inspecting fiber quality and rejecting defects
  • Managing fiber quantity counts and inventory records
  • Assigning product identification labels or tickets
  • Checking product quality for defects
  • Packaging fiber into boxes or tubs
  • Performing regular fiber inspections and documenting checks
  • Inspecting fiber on belt decks and conveyors for defects and buildup
  • Weighing, packaging, sealing, and labeling fiber production
  • Using reports to monitor progress and implement corrective actions
  • Following written and verbal instructions
  • Working safely, maintaining good housekeeping, and participating in safety initiatives
  • Demonstrating teamwork with peers and management
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Possessing working knowledge of scale setup
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • At least three years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to give clear instructions
  • Ability to work in high-temperature environments
  • Frequent lifting or moving of materials up to 10 lbs.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days and nights
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and grasp regularly
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights
  • Ability to work overhead for extended periods
