Job summary

OSI Group in Tipton, IN is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to oversee daily department operations, assign and review work, and ensure accurate and safe shipments.

You will lead 16-25 employees, coordinate forklift and equipment maintenance, review bills of lading, and enforce safety policies in a manufacturing environment. A High School Diploma and forklift certification are required. You should be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working around noise and equipment.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand documents related to the shipping and receiving of goods and materials.
• Ability to accurately enter information into a variety of software applications using a keyboard and personal computer.
• Basic understanding of mechanical operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team, has no authority to hire and performance-manage the team.
• Lead/supervise/manages 16-25 employees
• Assign tasks, verify completion, rotate assignments, enforce safety/work rules; report incidents as directed.
• Maintain or coordinate maintenance on departmental equipment (scales, forklift batteries, spotters, forklifts, hand trucks).
• Process shipments according to established procedure; validate drivers, direct trailer activity, verify BOLs, review/approve direct reports.
• Inspect and report on cooler/freezer conditions, inventory levels, and packaging materials.
• Perform date entry duties documenting goods receipts, inventory levels, material movements, and costs.
• Follow safety procedures and policies; participate in education and training to reinforce safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned
