Job summary

Roquette seeks a Packaging Process Engineer to support packaging operations at our site. You will act as process owner for packaging processes, provide technical support, troubleshoot issues and drive improvements to safety, quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food, beverage or packaging environment.
  • Knowledge of production processes, process improvement techniques and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and plant automation would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Act as process owner for site packaging operations and selected production operations.
  • Provide technical support to packaging equipment, processes, and plant personnel within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure packaging processes comply with safety, health, environmental and quality requirements and support changes arising from new regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to monitor and improve packaging line performance through analysis of OEE, downtime, waste, quality defects, and throughput metrics.
  • Troubleshoot packaging process and equipment issues and develop long-term corrective and preventative solutions.

The role is responsible for providing technical support to packaging processes/production operations, driving operational excellence, troubleshooting process issues, and implementing sustainable improvements to ensure safe, reliable and efficient production.Key Responsibilities:The responsibilities and accountabilities of the role will include but are not limited to the following:Act as process owner for site packaging operations and selected production operations.Provide technical support to packaging equipment, processes, and plant personnel within assigned areas of responsibility.Ensure packaging processes comply with all relevant Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements, and standards, and support the implementation of changes to equipment, procedures and operating standards arising from new regulatory requirements, revised standards or identified business risks.Identify opportunities to monitor and improve packaging line performance through analysis of OEE, downtime, waste, quality defects, and throughput metrics.Troubleshoot packaging process and equipment issues and develop effective long-term corrective and preventative solutions.Lead investigations into packaging-related and customer feedback.Lead and support packaging process improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, reliability, and cost performance.Establish, monitor, and maintain appropriate process control standards to ensure consistent product quality and operational performance.Monitor process performance, analyse operational data and implement actions to address adverse trends and target opportunities for improvement.Drive improvements in changeover efficiency, line performance and packaging equipment reliability.Support the introduction, qualification and validation of new packaging formats, materials, and equipment.Drive and support site programmes including cost improvement, quality enhancement, reliability improvement, process safety, and debottlenecking initiatives.Support change management activities and maintain required process documentation and records.Act as Area Owner for selected production processes, providing process oversight and technical leadership to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational requirements.Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve packaging material and equipment performance issues.Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality and HSE to achieve site objectives.Key CompetenciesEducation & ExperienceØDegree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.ØExperience working within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food, beverage or packaging environment.ØKnowledge of production processes, process improvement techniques and process equipment.Experience in continuous improvement (lean six sigma etc.), process optimisation and problem-solving methodologies would be advantageous.Knowledge of PLC systems and plant automation would be beneficialExperience with automated packaging equipment and packaging line operations.Knowledge of packaging materials, specifications and packaging quality systems.Personal AttributesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong influencing and relationship-building capabilities.Proactive and results-driven approach to work.Strong organisational and project management skills.Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and manage multiple activities simultaneously.Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and operational excellence.Excellent IT skills and ability to analyse and interpret process performance dataIf you identify yourself in this position, please apply by uploading your resume and let's start the journey together!Roquette is proud to be a global company where you can find personal and professional growth through multiple diverse experiences.Roquette strives to create a dynamic workforce while remaining firmly committed to equal opportunity by complying with EEO laws.As we continue to grow, Roquette understands that to be successful we must always be inclusive in our approach.To find out more about our products, values and sustainable development ambitions visit us at www.roquette.com and at www.sustainability.roquette.com
