Job description

Position Summary –

Foodkick is currently seeking a general laborer in the New York City area.

This associate is responsible for the production of goods in the fresh department and quality of all products ordered and produced for customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Transfer finished products and raw material around the site and warehouse.
  • Analyze quality of produce by season, sizing, color, texture, and taste to provide a rating for the product.
  • Execute safe food practices involving perishables, consumables, and/or short shelf life items in HMR.
  • Process all manufacturing and production of raw materials as required for meat and seafood using SAP.
  • Check packages for correct labeling to ensure accuracy of all order fulfillment and production requirements using SAP.
  • Assist in shutdown procedures including scraping of all goods not used for production.
  • Assist in housekeeping of the department to meet GMPs.
  • Maintain compliance with food and safety rules, policies, and procedures in producing and packaging goods.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Able to communicate in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Must be able to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
  • Must be able to start overnight or early morning hours (start times vary by department).
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform twisting, turning, and bending.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable and able to work an 8 to 12-hour shift (hours per day are based on business need).
  • Must be comfortable in a warehouse/production environment.
  • Experience in meat or seafood is a plus.
  • Ability to meet production and accuracy standards in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Basic reading and math skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work in a climate from 32 to 38 degrees.

Ideal:

  • Ability to apply knowledge of processes involved, production methods, and products to the nuances of everyday operations.
