Job summary

SARSTEDT in Newton, NC is seeking a Packing & Interim Warehouse Lead for 1st shift to oversee the Packing, I‑Point and Interim Warehouse teams, ensuring accurate material flow, maintaining inventory, and supporting subsequent processing operations. You will lead four associates, drive efficiency KPIs, ensure quality and documentation, and uphold safety while meeting daily targets.

A high school diploma and 1–3 months of related experience are required; MS Excel/Word proficiency and forklift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic computer skills including MS Excel and Word; forklift license is a plus.
• Ability to meet physical demands including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities in Packing, the I‑Point, and the Interim Warehouse, including shift efficiency KPIs and 5S improvements.
• Package and label products according to priority from the Packing Supervisor.
• Verify product quality and documentation before final packaging.
• Receive, maintain, organize, and manage inventory in the Interim Warehouse.
• Pick and stage products to meet operational demand.
• Ensure proper use and operation of equipment and coordinate supplies as needed.
• Follow safety regulations and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Directly lead four employees, including training, assigning work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems in accordance with policy.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our next Packing & Interim Warehouse Leadperson (1st Shift), you will be responsible for leading the Packing and Interim Warehouse department, ensuring the accurate and timely flow of materials, maintaining inventory, and providing components to support secondary processing operations.

• Oversee daily activities in Packing, the I‑Point, and the Interim Warehouse, including shift efficiency KPIs and 5S process improvements.
• Package and label products according to priority and assignments from the Packing Supervisor.
• Verify product quality and documentation before final packaging.
• Receive, maintain, organize, and manage inventory in the Interim Warehouse.
• Pick and stage products to meet operational demand.
• Ensure proper use and operation of equipment and coordinate supplies as needed.
• Follow all safety regulations and promptly report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Directly lead four employees, including training, assigning work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

What You Bring

High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months of related experience and/or training.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to obtain a forklift license.

Requirements

• Ability to meet physical demands, including standing, walking, reaching, bending, and regularly lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.

Basic math skills, including working with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, use sound judgment, and resolve routine problems.

Hours: 1st shift (6am - 2:30pm) / Monday - Friday and occasional Saturdays
