Job summary

Hachette Book Group is seeking a Packing Associate at our Indiana Distribution Center (121 N Enterprise Blvd). You will operate the Track machine and tape machine to pack shipped orders, check cartons for damage, and ensure items are properly wrapped and protected. This full-time role requires reliability on the 8 a.m.

to 4 p.m. shift, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the capacity to work independently in a repetitive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous packaging experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate Track Machine and change tape as needed.
• Check cartons for damage and correct placement of items.
• Add paper for protection and finalize packing before labeling.
• Report machine problems or packing errors to Lead or Supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness of machines and work area.
• Assist Quality Control as required and support shift transitions.
• Perform minor troubleshooting on packlist printer.
• Work reliably within the established shift schedule and overtime as required.
• Report to Picking Lead after all cartons have been packed.
• Replace tape on tape machine and ensure workflow continuity.

Operate Track Machine;2. Check cartons to assure product is undamaged and was correctly placed in carton;3. Add proper amount of paper to cartons to ensure damage protection.4. Change tape on tape machine.5. Communication - must report all machine problems, damages, and errors found to Lead or Supervisor;6. Reliability - must be dependable in working established shift schedules, including overtime;7. Assist Quality Control as needed;8. Clean machines and work area;9. Report to Picking Lead after all cartons have been packed;10.
