Job summary

Queen City Farms in Cincinnati is seeking a detail-oriented Farm Technician to join our growing team. This full-time role focuses on packing and processing orders in our packhouse while supporting daily operations in our vertical farm, helping ensure consistent production of microgreens, leafy greens, and edible flowers.

You will work independently and with teammates, uphold strict food-safety and quality standards, and maintain accurate records, inventories, and equipment sanitation.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in warm, humid environments.
• Strong attention to detail, especially in packing and order accuracy.
• Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Pack harvested products according to customer orders and specifications.
• Process, label, and prepare orders for shipment or pickup.
• Maintain inventory of packing materials and rotate finished goods.
• Inspect product quality and remove items that do not meet standards.
• Keep detailed records of packed orders, yields, and discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organized packhouse workspace and harvest weekly crops.
• Operate and maintain basic harvesting tools and soil-mixing equipment.
• Sanitize and dispose of harvested trays properly and record data.
• Water crops and monitor indoor climate controls to ensure optimal growing conditions.
• Work effectively both independently and with the team; communicate clearly.
