Job summary

H2ajobs in Forrest City, Arkansas is seeking workers to assist in pecan and peach orchards. You will prepare and clear the orchard, harvest pecans, and package them in bulk bags after cleaning, while recording tree maturity and bag numbers.

You may use various hand tools and equipment to care for trees and fields, and you must be able to speak and understand English. The position provides employer housing and meals, with weekly transportation to grocery stores where meals and kitchen facilities

• One month of recent verifiable farm work experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/clear pecan and peach orchards and maintain field roads/boundaries.
• Harvest and pack pecans, including packaging into bulk bags after cleaning.

Job description

Worker will be required to perform job duties under SOC 53-7064 Packers and Packagers, Hand such as: Prepare/clear the pecan and peach orchard; Harvest and gather pecans; Pack or package pecans in bulk bags after cleaning; Record tree maturity and bag numbers; Use tools such as pruning hooks, shears, shovels, backhoe, trowels, etc. to care for trees, field roads/boundaries, move dirt; Speak and understand English.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

One (1) month of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
