Job description

Packer

Packaging Team Member

A packer performs an important function supporting the production line by setting up and operating auxiliary line equipment. This position assists the machine operator to produce a quality product and meet production throughput goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Pack product into designated boxes.
  • Set up and operate auxiliary equipment.
  • Monitor auxiliary equipment for proper operation during production.
  • Identify and report problems or machine issues that prevent making a quality product or running at required throughput rates.
  • Monitor line production in order to detect and report quality issues with the final product.
  • Provide assistance and breaks to any and all positions on the production line when needed.
  • Actively participate in and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the proper operation of auxiliary equipment by participating in machine set ups and training for lines not currently assigned.

Safety & GMP Objectives

  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures as well as complying with all OSHA, EPA and other regulatory rules and regulations. (THINK “SAFETY FIRST”.)
  • Review and execute our Food Safety Plan in order to provide value to each of our customers with safe, relevant, tasty food products; while never compromising quality.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming and hygiene, etc.
  • Report all incidents/accidents to your immediate supervisor and the Director of Safety.

Other

  • Read and understand the employee handbook. Review policies and practices of MFP.
  • Complete all appropriate annual trainings.

Packer position is backed up by other packers, machine operators and/or packaging lead.

Compensation: $18/hour

Hours: Monday 6am - 4pm & Tu-TH 4am - 4pm
