Position Overview
This position is responsible for productivity of the manufacturing extrusion line(s) while fostering a work environment that supports safety, productivity, quality, teamwork, and the Reschcor company culture and core values.
Responsibilities
- Perform required tasks on multiple assigned extrusion lines per shift
- Package product neatly and accurately according to packaging instructions
- Perform basic quality checks using a length table and a tape measure at required frequencies
- Perform basic visual quality checks for surface and dimensional defects
- Assist the Lead Technicians with placing downstream equipment during changeovers
- Assist the startup of extrusion lines with direction from a Lead Technician
- Assist with grinding scrap at the production line
- Perform basic troubleshooting of downstream equipment and perform minor adjustments
- Operate common packaging equipment
- Responsible for any additional fabrication / end-of-line finishing that is required for a finished product
- Communicate with Quality and Production team members regarding discrepancies in work orders, packaging instructions, blueprints and box labels
- Read and must understand blueprints and work orders
- Communicate quality concerns with the product that is being packaged
- Understand and be proficient in utilizing the Quality Management System
- Practice 5S and lean manufacturing principles and ensure lean practices are maintained, including housekeeping on assigned extrusion lines
- Participate in and actively support facility safety programs
- Assist in providing relief to other Packers during breaks
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain a regular attendance pattern
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- Experience in plastics preferred but not required
- Proficient with basic arithmetic
- Able to read and interpret documents related to quality, packaging and work orders
- Able to navigate and input data into Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Able to navigate and input data into an ERP system, preferably IQMS
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents

- Typical non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment
