Job summary

Norplex Inc. is seeking a Packer to safely and efficiently package finished polyethylene film products according to customer specifications and company standards. This role ensures product quality during final handling, labeling, and preparation for storage or shipment.

You will support production flow in a fast-paced plastics environment, inspect for defects, maintain a clean work area, and follow safety procedures including PPE and 5S to minimize waste and downtime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or packing experience preferred.
  • Experience in plastics or extrusion environment is a plus.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills including counting and simple measurements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Overview

The Packer is responsible for safely and efficiently packaging finished polyethylene film products according to customer specifications and company standards. This position ensures product quality during final handling, proper labeling, and preparation for storage or shipment. The Packer plays a critical role in maintaining production flow, minimizing product damage, and supporting overall operational efficiency while adhering to safety and quality requirements.

Packing and Packaging
  • Package polyethylene film products in accordance with customer specifications and company standards.
  • Ensure proper use of packaging materials including cores, bags, boxes, and pallets.
  • Apply labels, tags, and identification markings accurately to finished goods.
  • Palletize finished products safely and securely for transport or storage.
Product Quality
  • Perform visual inspections of finished products for defects such as holes, contamination, uneven edges, or damage.
  • Ensure packaged products meet quality standards for appearance and protection.
  • Segregate and report non-conforming or damaged materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain attention to detail to prevent packaging errors or mislabeling.
Production Support
  • Remove finished product from extrusion lines in a timely manner to maintain production flow.
  • Assist operators during production runs by keeping packing areas organized and stocked.
  • Support line clean-up and product changeovers as needed.
  • Monitor packaging supply levels and notify supervision when replenishment is required.
Safety and Housekeeping
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
  • Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Report all safety concerns, near misses, and incidents immediately.
Equipment Use
  • Safely use pallet jacks and basic packing equipment as trained.
  • Handle finished goods carefully to prevent damage during handling and storage.
  • Report any equipment or material issues that may impact operations.
Teamwork and Communication
  • Communicate effectively with extrusion operators, supervisors, and coworkers.
  • Participate in shift change communication and daily production updates.
  • Support team goals and assist coworkers as needed to meet production targets.
Documentation
  • Complete packing logs, labels, and production documentation accurately and timely.
  • Ensure traceability of finished goods through proper documentation.
  • Follow company procedures for recording production and packaging data.
