Job summary

Wolverine Industries is hiring for a Packer on 12-hour continental shifts (6 p.m.–6 a.m.). The role offers competitive pay, first-day benefits, a $1.00 per hour attendance bonus, and $1.50 per hour night shift differential, plus 401K match and growth opportunities.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, forklift/crane certs, and manufacturing experience. Must be available nights/weekends; safety-focused and team-oriented. Training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain forklift and crane certifications (prior forklift/side loader experience a plus).
• Manufacturing experience in industrial production preferred.
• Available for nights and weekends with occasional overtime.
• Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Pack finished goods to customer requirements.
• Inspect material for defects and discard defective material when packing.
• Cross-train in other departments.
• Pack material from age racks and ensure proper nesting and piece count.
• Inspect for cut length and quality; follow standard processes.
• Keep workspace organized and restock packing supplies.
• Ensure production requirements and standards are met consistently.
• Aim to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality.
• Complete packaging tasks such as assembly, stacking, and binding.
• Operate machinery correctly and report issues to management.
• Work with the production team to meet quotas and goals.

• Packer's position is necessary to ensure finished goods profiles are properly packed to customer requirements.


• Packing is also the final step in the process, inspection is required to visually discard of any defective material when packing.


• Ability to cross train in other departments.


• Pack material from age racks and place the material in proper packing material, proper nesting and piece count verification.


• Inspect material for cut length, profile conformation, and quality standard process are followed.


• Keep work-space organized and clean, restock packing supplies, contribute to continuous improvements.


• Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently.


• Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality.


• Complete packaging tasks such as assembly, stacking, and binding.


• Operate machinery correctly and maintain it with care.


• Report any machinery issues to management.


• Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals.


• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED

Essential Physical Functions:

• Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.


• Ability to perform physical tasks that are repetitive.


• Ability to do work requiring standing with frequent stooping, bending, reaching overhead and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all aspects of the job.


• Ability to lift, move parts and equipment up to 50 pounds.


• Ability to wear necessary PPE's (footwear, face covering, ear protections, eye protection, etc.).


• Able to work 12-hour shifts primarily standing.
