Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. is seeking a packaging associate to manually package materials and products, ensuring compliance with quality standards. The role involves verifying BOM materials, serial numbers, and organizing finished goods for staging.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • Gather packing materials correct to the bill of materials, verify serial numbers, complete paperwork, and operate barcode systems.
  • Wrap protective material around product as required.
  • Pack and process finished materials and move them to staging areas.
  • Update the company operating system to move material and perform related tasks.
  • Visually inspect materials, products, and containers at each packaging step.
  • Record information such as Serial Number, weight, time, and date packaged.
  • Communicate issues with Packing Lead or Supervisor to resolve promptly.
  • Seek ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality.
  • Participate in 5S initiatives and keep the area organized.
  • May work in other areas or facilities as needed.
  • May work overtime or alternate shifts.
  • Participate in all required activities and other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Packages materials and products manually by performing the work/packaging instructions specified for each product or part. Visually verifies that parts and or finished products are in compliance with SIG SAUER’s quality standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • Efficiently/effectively gather packing materials that are correct to the bill of materials, verify serial numbers, complete necessary paperwork, and operate barcode
  • Wraps protective material around product as required.
  • Pack and process finished materials and move them to appropriate staging areas within the
  • Update the company operating system to perform movement of material, and any other functions required to perform job
  • Visually inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process.
  • Records information such as Serial Number, weight, time, and date packaged.

  • Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment

Education/Experience & Skills:
  • High school diploma or general education degree ( GED).
  • Typically requires no previous experience.
  • Must be able to read and understand work instructions in English.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is preferred.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic data entry information when processing packed parts and product.
  • Proficient in basic math.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment sharing information, respecting, and assisting other team members.
Working Conditions:
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks
  • Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) with the exception of lunch and break periods.
  • Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
  • standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
  • Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools in the packing of assembled product.
  • Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and ability to focus on fine print.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
