Job Description Overview:

The Packer will be responsible for pulling plastic items (preforms) from a box and placing them on the conveyor, or pulling bottles and jars from a conveyor belt, inspecting them per QC specifications, and packaging them according to packaging standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Follow all safety policies.
2. Follow GMP policies & guidelines.
3. Remove plastic preforms from boxes, inspect per quality specifications, and place on conveyor as instructed.
4. Remove bottles/jars from conveyor belt, inspect per quality standards.
5. Pack bottles/jars according to posted packaging specifications.
6. Report any product issues or quality concerns to co-workers, Lead, or shift change personnel.
7. Operate production equipment; start & stop machines as trained, clear jams.
8. Assist in documenting quality issues or machine downtime.
9. Form boxes & trays manually as needed; operate box-making machinery.
10. Ensure defects are categorized and separated.
11. Perform cleaning and sanitation of machines as required.
12. Maintain housekeeping at the work center or as directed.
13. Follow VPET's Quality Management System including procedures and work instructions.
14. Perform any other tasks assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Other skills and abilities:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English preferred.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Work effectively in a team and individually.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to work scheduled shifts, including overtime and weekends.
• Commitment to the success of the organization.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Perform pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
• Perform repetitive motions such as reaching and grasping.
• Work environment in a warehouse with temperature variations.
• Fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
