Job summary

WinCup in Tolleson, AZ is seeking a Packer to support the FOAM department in a fast-paced packaging environment. You will visually inspect foam cups, paper cups, and lids, package finished products, and notify supervisors of any quality or safety issues.

The role requires following GMPs, participating in pre-shift safety meetings, and collaborating with team members. Shifts include 6:00 AM–6:00 PM and 6:00 PM–6:00 AM with overtime potential; cross-training across departments is expected.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English; work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to GMP, food safety, HACCP and SQF; report non-compliance immediately.
  • Constructs carton to contain product; ensures proper carton is used.
  • Packs product into cartons per order specifications; counts cups accurately.
  • Responds to jams and equipment malfunctions; restarts safely.
  • Maintains a clean, safe packing area and assists teammates as needed.

Day Schedule:

6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Night Schedule:

6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, plus shift differential.

Required Availability:

Must be available for cross‑train in other departments and support as needed.

Job Summary:

This position primarily supports operational needs in the FOAM department. The Packer visually inspects product being produced, such as foam cups, paper cups, and lids, properly separates and packages the product. A packer is responsible for notifying the proper individual(s) when quality, product food safety, or production problems arise and ensures that only quality product is packaged into finished cases. A packer follows GMPs and supports the smooth flow of the product through the packaging room by working at an efficient pace and by responding to equipment malfunction signals in the assigned packing area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to all good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, HACCP and SQF process requirements; rectify or report any non‑compliance to Management or the SQF practitioner immediately.
  • Ensures that adequate vital supplies are available; obtains supplies or notifies Utility of requirements.
  • Reports to all scheduled shifts and attends pre‑shift and safety meetings as required.
  • Constructs carton to contain product, ensuring proper carton is used.
  • Visually inspects product prior to bagging and checks packaging for proper print and seal, performing random inspections of product logs to identify quality defects.
  • Packs product into cartons according to product order specifications, accurately counting cups when hand bagging.
  • Seals cartons, supplies proper stamping or labels, ensuring program date is legible on each carton.
  • Sets aside defective product for correction or scrapping, ensuring no defective product reaches the customer.
  • Maintains an effective and safe pace to keep packing bins or stacking tubes clear.
  • Assists other team members as needed.
  • Responds to product jams, clears jams, restarts equipment safely, recovers miss‑packaged products.
  • Maintains housekeeping standards by keeping a clean work area.
  • Handles absence of an inspector/packer by arranging a fill‑in from another shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Lead Packer, Lead PEO, or Shift Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Demands:
  • Actively listen and exchange information.

  • Move or transport materials up to 30 pounds, requiring bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Stand or sit for long periods (up to a 12‑hour shift).
  • Use hands and arms to manually inspect, grasp, handle, and feel objects, tools, and controls; lift, pull, push, stoop, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch.
Working Conditions:
  • Workspace contains moving mechanical parts.
  • Indoor manufacturing environment may be exposed to extreme heat.
  • Environment contains loud noises and odors; exposure to airborne particles.
  • Personal protective equipment required: hairnet, beard net, gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses with side guards.
  • Work 8+, 10+, or 12+ hour shifts as designated.
  • Work weekdays, weekends, and overtime as designated.
