Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie in Columbus, OH is seeking an Associate Packer. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday from 6am to 2:30pm, with overtime as needed. You will assemble, label and pack products and accessories according to daily instructions.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 50 pounds with equipment as needed, and maintain 6S standards. The role includes mandatory training, a safety-focused environment, and a competitive benefits package.

YOU

As an Associate Packer, you will be responsible for assembling and packing products and accessories in boxes.

This is a full-time position is Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pm with overtime as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

• Assemble, label and pack correctly, various products and accessory items as directed on a daily basis. (85%)
• Maintain work area to 6S standards. (10%)
• Maintain mandatory training requirements. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
• Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Reading Comprehension: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Analysis/Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form,
• Safety: Ability to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating a safe work practice by promoting a safe work environment.
• Quality: Ability to follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Columbus, OH.

PAY

$17.60 - $26.39 / hour
