Job summary

Amcor in Saint Helens, Oregon, is seeking a dependable Packer/Handler to join our production team. You will maintain a clean work area, inspect products for quality, and assemble items with attention to detail across 12-hour shifts.

The role offers growth via pay progression and benefits after introductory periods. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour with a potential raise to $19.00 after 90 days following a successful evaluation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Production experience is a plus but not required.
• Must keep up with fast-paced production cycles.
• Requires agility and consistent attention to detail.
• Able to tolerate constant repetition and long periods of standing or sitting.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds safely.
• Able to identify alpha/numeric product codes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Inspect product for quality and flag issues to leaders.
• Assemble products by installing components and preparing labeling.
• Move and pack product according to customer instructions.
• Assist with material handling and cleanup when production slows.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.

Job Description

The primary duties and responsibilities of the OP1 consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
• Inspect product to ensure quality. Set aside product that is below quality standards. Work closely with Team Leader and alert Mold Tech and Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions. Watch molds for irregularities or sticking. Timely response to quality issues is key to this position.
• Complete assembly of product by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required while keeping up with the production machines cycles.
• Flame containers and lids when required.
• Stack and pack product per instructions that vary with different customers and orders
• Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels
• Assist with material handling and other tasks as needed
• When the machine experiences an interruption in production, the Packer Handler will take this available time to clean up oil, sweep, mop, make boxes or other tasks that may be assigned by the Team Leader or Supervisor.
• Accurately complete any required paperwork
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Education, Skills & Physical Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous production experience a plus but not required
• Must be able to keep up with the fast-paced production cycles.

• Able to tolerate constant repetition.
• Some workstations may require sitting or standing for long periods of time.
• Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.

Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• 2 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off
• Paid lunch breaks

Pay Progression

Starting pay of $18.00 per hour

Increase to $19.00 per hour after 90 days with a successful performance evaluation
