Job summary

US Cotton in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a full-time packer to inspect and pack final products for warehouse storage. You will sort defective items, ensure correct packaging and labels, and keep the packing area clean and safe.

This role requires standing for long periods, basic math and English skills, and the ability to manage multiple machines with attention to detail. Reports to the Production Supervisor; days shift.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalency required.
• Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive packing tasks.
• Basic math and adequate English skills required.

Responsibilities

• Sort defective products before packing.
• Pack product into the proper packaging per the dispo.
• Tape boxes neatly and securely.
• Assure the correct product code/labels on the box.
• Place boxes on the proper skid with the correct amount of cases per layer and per skid.
• Keep packing area neat, clean, and safe; assist with sweeping and keeping product off the floor.
• Communicate quality or sealer problems to Lead.
• Complete necessary paperwork and required documentation.
• Assist other positions within the department as needed.
• Follow department and machine rules and procedures.
• Complete special projects and assignments as directed by Lead or Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPERIENCE

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a keen eye and attention to detail. Adequate English skills as well as basic math skills are required.

EDUCATION

• High school graduate or GED equivalency required

SKILLS

• This position requires constant standing.
• Ability to keep up with six to eight machines with no or minimal help.
