Responsibilities

• Verify customer requirements by reviewing the Setup.
• Identify Exception codes and use proper packing supplies.
• Print labels at the Packaging Station and verify roll data for finished rolls.
• Demonstrate basic troubleshooting of conveying systems.
• Operate the packaging crane safely and in a controlled manner.
• Enter data into the computer at the Packing and Stretch-Wrapping Stations.
• Demonstrate basics of and operate the Stretch-Wrapper in Automatic and Manual modes.
• Weigh finished pallets and apply labels verifying data.
• Maintain good housekeeping and a safe working environment.
• Interact with packers, production supervisor, lead technician, and slitting technicians as required.
• Operate a forklift and stack material with a forklift.
• Demonstrate use of the clamp truck.
• Assist in any function of the Slitting Department as requested by lead operator or supervisor.

Job description

TITLE: Packer C

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Packaging Technician is responsible for the proper identification of slit rolls and to ensure each roll is packed and labeled according to the customer specifications. They are also responsible for the proper use of packaging equipment, the preventive maintenance, and housekeeping of the equipment and the area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Have the ability to verify customer requirements by reviewing the Setup

• Must be able to print labels at the Packaging Station and how to verify the roll data for each finished roll coming off the conveyors
• Demonstrate the basic troubleshooting of conveying systems

• Demonstrate the basics of and be able to operate the Stretch-Wrapper in both Automatic and Manual
• Must be able to weigh the finished pallet and to properly apply label to pallet verifying data
