Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Packer and Unpacker of Cases with scanning responsibilities to join our dental laboratory team. This position involves packing and unpacking dental cases to ensure the safe shipment and receipt of materials, as well as scanning cases and materials for inventory tracking and quality control. The ideal candidate will be organized, capable of handling delicate dental items, and proficient in using scanning technology to maintain accurate inventory records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Packing: Securely pack dental cases, ensuring that all products are well-protected for transport. Follow specific packing instructions to meet both customer and shipping requirements, ensuring materials and products are properly protected against damage.
- Unpacking: Efficiently unpack received cases, checking for accuracy and inspecting items for any damage. Record discrepancies or damaged goods and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
- Scanning and Inventory Management: Scan items into the inventory system to track the movement of materials within the lab. Ensure accurate data entry for all incoming and outgoing items, helping maintain an organized inventory system.
- Labeling: Ensure that all packages and materials are clearly and accurately labeled with the correct information (e.g., product codes, shipping addresses, or order numbers). Assist in updating inventory labels as needed.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring all items meet the lab's standards and any discrepancies are immediately reported. Inspect all packages for correct items and condition.
- Shipping Preparation: Assist in preparing cases for shipping, ensuring items are packed according to standards and documentation is complete. Coordinate with the shipping team to ensure timely dispatch.
- Organization and Documentation: Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all materials, packing supplies, and scanned items are easily accessible. Keep accurate records of all shipments, receipts, and inventory levels.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure that packing, unpacking, and scanning tasks are completed in accordance with lab schedules and production needs. Provide support in meeting deadlines and addressing any inventory-related concerns.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in packing, unpacking, or warehouse operations is preferred. Experience in a dental or medical device environment is a plus but not required.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to ensure proper handling, scanning, and labeling of items.
- Scanning Proficiency: Familiarity with scanning technologies and inventory management systems. Ability to quickly and accurately scan items into the system for inventory tracking.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move packages of varying weights, with occasional heavier items. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently, maintain an orderly workspace, and follow precise instructions for packing and scanning.
- Communication Skills: Basic communication skills to work effectively with team members and report any issues, discrepancies, or concerns.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. regularly, with the ability to lift heavier items occasionally.
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail when scanning or handling delicate items.
