Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a dedicated Packer on-site in Seymour, Indiana. You will help maintain a clean, safe line while packing products at standard rates and operating equipment such as punches, conveyors and flamers.

The role requires attention to quality defects and strict adherence to procedures. Responsibilities include packaging, labeling, ticketing, line housekeeping, and supporting the supervisor with any additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment and follow all Silgan safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or coordinator.
• Pack at standard rate.
• Operate a punch.
• Load conveyors and flamers.
• Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
• Remove scrap from around the line.
• Grind and pull plastic as needed.
• Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
• Initial and date box labels.
• Make out unit tickets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
