Job summary

Campbell's is hiring a Packer to support finished product packaging and quality control on 3rd shift in Oregon. You will prepare packaging, inspect products, and move materials using pallet jacks. The role requires basic manufacturing experience and a focus on safety, detail, and teamwork.

Responsibilities include line startup support, changeovers, sanitation, and adherence to 5S and GMP standards while meeting production targets and quality controls.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or one (1) year of manufacturing or production experience.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift and handle materials weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and schedule changes as business needs require.

  • Prepare cartons and trays for product packing by folding, taping, sorting, labeling, and assembling packaging materials.
  • Verify packaging materials are properly prepared and available for production.
  • Pack products into cartons, trays, and displays according to packaging specifications.
  • Ensure products are packaged with the correct labels, codes, and packaging configurations.
  • Tape and seal cartons when required.

  • Remove products that do not meet quality standards.

  • Move finished goods and packaging materials as needed.
  • Utilize pallet jacks when required to transport finished products.
  • Support product rework activities according to plant procedures.
  • Follow all plant safety, food safety, and hygiene procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Perform sanitation tasks, including equipment washes, seasoner cleanings, and wipeouts.
  • Follow proper lifting and material handling practices.
  • Assist with production line startup activities.
  • Support changeovers as needed.
  • Operate tray-making and stapling equipment when assigned.
  • Report equipment or production issues to Machine Operators, Group Leaders, or Supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as required to support business needs.

As a Packer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our products are packaged accurately, safely, and efficiently before they reach consumers. You will help maintain quality standards, support production goals, and contribute to a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment. Your attention to detail and commitment to product quality help ensure every package meets Campbell’s standards.

What You Will Do
Packaging & Production Support
  • Prepare cartons and trays for product packing by folding, taping, sorting, labeling, and assembling packaging materials.

Sanitation, Safety & Housekeeping
  • Follow all plant safety, food safety, and hygiene procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Remove defective packaging materials, waste, and loose product from the work area.
  • Keep aisles, workspaces, and exits clear of obstructions.
Perform Sanitation Tasks, Including
  • Equipment washes
  • Seasoner cleanings
  • Wipeouts
  • Follow proper lifting and material handling practices.
Equipment & Operational Support
  • Assist with production line startup activities.
  • Support changeovers as needed.
  • Operate tray-making and stapling equipment when assigned.
  • Report equipment or production issues to Machine Operators, Group Leaders, or Supervisors.
Additional Responsibilities

  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing quality inspections.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks or material handling equipment.
  • Familiarity with 5S, GMPs, and food safety practices.
  • Experience supporting changeovers and production startup activities.
  • Experience operating packaging-related equipment such as tray makers or stapling machines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Frequent exposure to wet and humid conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to elevated work areas, airborne particles, cleaning chemicals, and industrial production environments.
  • Loud work environment requiring adherence to safety and PPE requirements.
  • Requires continuous standing, walking, bending, and repetitive movement throughout the shift.

Shift: 3rd Shift | 9:00 PM - 5:00 AM

Pay: $18.60/hour

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
