Job summary

Ahlstrom in Windsor Locks, CT is seeking a Warehouse Associate to wrap, label and load finished goods from assigned work centers. You will operate a lift truck, pack and label shipments and ensure accuracy per customer item directories and BOMs.

Requires a high school diploma, at least 1 year in manufacturing and packing, basic math, and ability to read/write English; must lift up to 50 lbs and work around potentially hazardous machinery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 1 year packing experience.
• Basic math skills and ability to read and write English.

• Coordinate the flow of finished product from the winders to and from the packing area.
• Operate a lift truck and all other support equipment.
• The ability to organize and process multiple shop orders including varying grades of product, roll sizes and packing put-up.
• Responsible for the proper packing, labeling and loading of all paper processed in accordance with the customer item directory, packing diagrams and boms.
• Ability to fill in as machine tender as necessary.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Communicate complete and accurate information at shift change or when relieved.
• Ability to work carefully around potentially dangerous machinery.

Education, Technical Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:

• High school diploma or it’s equivalent.
• Minimal 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimal 1 year packing experience.
• Basic math skills and have the ability to read and write English.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to continuously lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work while being exposed to temperature variation.
• Vision tested minimum requirements for converting operation is corrected to 20/40 far vision and 20/30 for near vision.
