Job summary

Butterball Farms, Inc. is hiring a Packer in Michigan (Grand Rapids area). The role pays $15.00/hour and supports a 6a-2p Monday-Friday schedule with occasional Saturdays during seasonal peaks.

You will work on Line 3D, packing, inspecting, labeling, and ensuring quality as part of a fast-paced production team. The company offers growth opportunities, a supportive culture, paid vacation/holidays, 401K match, tuition reimbursement, and employee assistance programs.

• Ability to work at a consistent, fast pace for extended periods.
• General math skills and GMP compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Count and pack product into boxes.
• Visually inspect for defects.
• Monitor weight and consistency of butter.
• Assemble boxes and print labels.
• Enter downtime or line issues into RedZone via tablet.
• Transport finished product to the freezer and stack skids.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist team as needed.
• Support QA sampling and line-side checks.

Pay: $15.00/hour

Schedule Available: 6a-2p Monday - Friday with occasional and Saturdays for seasonal increases.

Line: 3D

As a Packer you will be responsible to:

• Keep up with rate and pack product into boxes
• Visually inspect the product for any defects
• Carefully monitor the consistency and weight of the butter to make sure it is within range
• Properly assemble boxes and place appropriate bags
• Properly enter information to create labels and print them
• Hourly metal detector checks
• Gather butter samples for QA testing
• Work at a fast pace and multi-task
• Properly create skid pattern and stack boxes based on product specification
• Properly use a tape-gun to close boxes or properly use a tape machine
• Visualize and verify the correct date, lot code, and label is reflecting on the product being run
• Ability to enter downtime or any line/product issues into RedZone using a tablet
• Transport finished product to the freezer and wrap finished skids
• Maintain a clean area throughout the shift and after the run is complete help the team clean up the area
• Additional tasks as requested

• Be flexible with their work schedule to accommodate high work volume
• General math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Ability to adhere to GMP policies and maintain quality standards of the product
• A stable job history
• Previous Food Manufacturing experience is a plus!
