Job summary

Silgan Plastics in Deep River, CT seeks a Packaging Associate to follow safety and quality guidelines and pack/palletize production from conveyors. The role requires good communication, attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

You will work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed, with duties including labeling, ticketing, and basic housekeeping. Qualifications include GED or high school diploma, plus manufacturing exposure is preferred.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow all the Safety and Quality Guidelines.
• Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers
• Notify the inspector if any defective parts are noticed
• Pack at standard rate.
• Pack or Palletize production from conveyors systems.
• Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
• Remove scrap from around the line.
• Rework and repack any defective product when necessary and document appropriate paperwork.
• Initial and date box labels.
• Make out unit tickets.
• Do any other work as assigned by the Supervisor.

SKILLS:

• Required: Ability to read, write and communicate orally. Good attention to detail.
