Job summary

Atkore is seeking a General Labor Packing Operator based in Wayne, MI, to support packing and assembly on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. You will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and be responsible for packing, labeling, and meeting production targets.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork, with opportunities to learn equipment operation, work overtime as needed, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

Qualifications

• One year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic math and verbal skills.
• Ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery.
• Ability to follow standard work processes and operate with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Flexibility of shift scheduling, to include overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

Open positions available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shift. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this person will be responsible for the packing and assembly operations.

What you'll do:

Packer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Pack product, weigh, and label finished boxes appropriately
• Ensure quality standards are met for parts packed; notify appropriate support for nonconforming parts
• Must maintain production standards to meet internal and external customer demand
• Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding hourly rate goals
• Responsible for completing the Hour-by-Hour board(s) for the duration of shift

What you'll bring:

Within 3 months, you'll:

• Adhere to all Life Saving Rules, including: Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO), Machine Guarding/Bypassing Safety Controls, and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety protocols
• Ensure Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost metrics are met daily
• Support 5S initiatives in assigned work areas
