Job summary

Air Mobility Command (Department of the Air Force) is seeking personnel to perform a range of packing, preservation, and cargo handling duties at Dover Base. You will pack, certify, and move hazardous and classified cargo in accordance with federal regulations and safety protocols.

The role involves operating packaging equipment and forklifts up to 10,000 pounds, with emphasis on safe handling and compliance with security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard and specialized packing and preservation tasks, including hazardous materials, using protective techniques to ensure safe movement.
• Packs and certifies hazardous, sensitive, and classified cargo in line with federal regulations.
• Operates and maintains packaging and preservation equipment (heat sealers, shrink wrap, stapling machine).
• Follows safety rules and procedures; uses PPE and safe operating practices.
• Operates forklifts (electric/LPG/diesel) up to 10,000 pounds and 168 inches to load/unload cargo.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of standard and specialized preservations and/or packing and repacking work. Uses various protective/cushioning techniques for custom packing of a variety of items including hazardous materials to ensure safe and damage free movement.
• Packs and accomplishes certification of all types of hazardous, sensitive and classified cargo in accordance with federal regulations.
• Uses and maintains various types of equipment, such as packaging and preservations equipment, heat sealers, shrink wrapper, and stapling machine.
• Performs duties and operates equipment in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations.
• Operates one or more electric, LPG, or diesel powered forklift trucks which are capable of lifting loads of up to 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches o facilitate loading and unloading duties.
