Job summary

Plastipak in Alsip, IL is seeking a Packer to operate finishing equipment, inspect for visual defects, and pack products for distribution. You will keep equipment clean and maintained while following safety standards.

The role offers 8‑hour shifts Monday through Friday and a pathway to grow through diverse on‑the‑job training. Eligible candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, basic hand‑tool skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Mechanical, electrical, or other technical/machine operation ability.
  • Able to use basic hand tools (wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers).
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • Open to 2nd or 3rd shift with training on 1st shift.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment in finishing stages of production safely.
  • Inspect products and remove those with visual defects to meet quality standards.
  • Pack products for distribution.
  • Clean and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Expand knowledge through training and on‑the‑job experiences.

You Will
  • Operate equipment in the finishing stages of production in a safe manner
  • Assure quality standards are always met by inspecting & removing products with visual defects
  • Pack products for distribution
  • Clean & maintain equipment to assure optimal operating performance
  • Grow your knowledge & skills through a wide-variety of training & on-the-job experiences
You Have
  • Ability to work 2nd Shift or 3rd Shift, training on 1st shift
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Mechanical, electrical or other technical/machine operation ability. This can be experience gained through paid or unpaid work
  • Able to use basic hand tools, such as wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
You’ll Earn
  • $17.50/hr.
  • PLUS $1 per hour Shift Differential for 2nd and 3rd Shift
