Job summary

Steel Technologies LLC is seeking a Packager to set up and operate banding equipment, packaging materials to customer specifications and ensuring proper identification and segregation. The role provides exposure to finished goods and customer end products, with on-site shifts and a focus on safety and production standards.

Starting pay ranges from $16.75 to $18.75 per hour, with 1st, 2nd, and weekend shift options.

Qualifications

• Ability to use tape measure, micrometers, and calipers
• Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements
• Pass necessary Forklift Certification and/or Crane Training
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Responsibilities

• Prepare skids to customer specifications
• Operate turnstile, down layer, banding line equipment and crane as needed to package material
• Package material to meet customer specifications per customer supplied information and standard packaging instructions
• Ensure proper identification and segregation
• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to transport materials to and from storage areas, workstations, and working within areas of assignment
• Safely handle material without damage
• Clean packaging area or any other assigned area
• Maintain production standards
• Load, transport, unload, and stack materials in accordance with established procedures
