Job summary

Pfizer in Michigan seeks a manufacturing operator for a 3rd shift (11pm–7:30am) at the Kalamazoo site. You will operate production equipment, perform line clearances and packaging checks, and support continuous improvement while adhering to GMP.

Applicants need a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience and basic data entry skills. Position requires ability to stand long hours, lift up to 42 pounds, and work across shifts including weekends/overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of Capital Projects, corrective actions, and continuous improvement ideas.
• Perform tasks in strict compliance with SOPs, best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate reliability by following unit/area/plant requirements and guidelines.
• Show leadership within the unit, owning production schedule, product quality, and leading by example.
• Assist other production units to meet site goals.
• Perform various tasks supporting Kalamazoo Site objectives.
• Maintain and complete required training on time to meet site goals.
• Operate and assist in operating selected production equipment.
• Assist with or perform equipment setup under leadership guidance.
• Perform line clearances and cleaning.
• Conduct checks including hourly audits and packaging checks.
• Conduct equipment and facility compliance assessments.

• Perform necessary process checks including, but not limited to, package checks, hourly audits, etc.
• Perform equipment and facility compliance assessments.

• Train and mentor new colleagues and TCW’s.

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in math and reading skills for understanding Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (also cGMP), and Batch Record comprehension
• Ability to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form
• Capability to perform tasks under demanding conditions
• Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment operation

Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)

• Experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Familiarity with automated packaging equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Familiarity and basic understanding of common AI tools and a curiosity for learning how they can be used to enhance productivity

Physical/Mental Requirements

Considerable standing. Walking, bending reaching and lifting up to 42 pounds. Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination is required. This position requires the manual packaging of products.

Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel, Or Environment Requirements

This is a 3rd shift position, 11pm-7:30am. Positions can be staffed across all three shifts based on business needs. Weekend, holiday, and overtime may be required to meet business or customer needs. Work Location Assignment: On Premise

In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
